OMAHA, Neb. – The West Virginia University men’s soccer team will open its 2010 spring season on Saturday, March 20, against Crystal Palace Baltimore, a member of the North American Soccer League. The match will take place at the Maryland Soccer Complex on field 18 in Germantown, Md., at 11 a.m.
“We are really looking forward to getting back on the field and competing this weekend,” coach Marlon LeBlanc says. “I think Crystal Palace Baltimore is a great test for us, and I’ll be excited for everyone to get back into game mode.”
WVU returns second team all-BIG EAST selection, goalkeeper Zach Johnson, and a pair of all-BIG EAST rookie team honorees in Eric Schoenle and Abel “Shadow” Sebele. The Mountaineers also gain the services of freshman U.S. U-17 national team standout Julio Arjona, who enrolled at WVU in January.
The contest, which marks the first of five spring games for the Mountaineers, takes place in the hometown of Arjona and freshman starter Moeryhan “Peabo” Doue.
