Women's Basketball: WVU 10th in Both Polls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s women’s basketball team (28-5, 13-3) fell to 10th in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ poll, released today. WVU fell two spots in the coaches’ poll and one spot in the AP poll.
West Virginia has now been ranked for 13 consecutive weeks in the coaches’ poll and 10 straight in the AP poll. WVU is one of five BIG EAST teams ranked in both polls this week joined by No. 1/1 Connecticut, No. 7/7 Notre Dame, No. 13/13 Georgetown and No. 15/17 St. John’s.
The Mountaineers advanced to the BIG EAST Championship game for the second time in program history last week and their 28 wins on the season are the most in school history.
West Virginia awaits its NCAA seeding and destination, which will be announced this evening at 7 p.m., on ESPN’s women’s basketball selection show.
