Women's Basketball: At Highest Ranking of Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After reaching its best start to a season in program history last week, the West Virginia women’s basketball team has matched its highest-ever ranking in today’s Associated Press poll as the Mountaineers are listed at No. 7.
WVU women’s basketball is currently 10-0 overall and earned a 1-0 mark in the BIG EAST after defeating Villanova in the conference opener. West Virginia’s No. 7 ranking this week matches its highest-ever ranking as WVU was listed at No. 7 on Feb. 22, 2010, the only other time in program history. The Mountaineers moved up to No. 7 after spending last week at No. 9 and the previous three weeks at No. 10.
West Virginia plays host to Saint Francis (Pa.) at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, at the WVU Coliseum. The game will be broadcast live on www.MSNsportsNET.com with Travis Jones and Jay Jacobs on the call.
