Women’s Soccer: WVU vs. Penn State Sunday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Seventh-ranked West Virginia resumes NCAA Championship play with a second round match against Penn State on Sunday, Nov. 14, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Mountaineers (17-4-1) advanced with a 2-0 shutout over visiting Morehead State yesterday behind two goals from midfielder Bri Rodriguez. The Nittany Lions (11-8-1) defeated Penn, 1-0, in NCAA first round action yesterday afternoon in Morgantown.
Tomorrow’s contest is a rematch from the season opener for both teams in which Penn State recorded a 2-1 overtime victory. PSU forward Tani Costa scored the game-winner with 49 seconds remaining in front of 1,277 fans at Dick Dlesk.
West Virginia, the BIG EAST tournament champions, is riding a 13-match win streak – the second longest in the nation.
Penn State, the Big Ten co-champions, has won eight of its last nine matches, including five straight.
The winner of Sunday's match moves on to face the Boston College-Hofstra victor. That match would take place in Newton, Mass. on Nov. 19, 20 or 21.
NCAA second round ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 18 and younger) and senior citizens. Admission is free for West Virginia University students with a valid student ID.
Free WVU student shuttle bus service will be available for Sunday’s match from the Mountainlair & the Brooke/Braxton Towers loop from noon to 1 p.m. Return service to the Mountainlair and the Brooke/Braxton Towers will also be available at the conclusion of the match.
Fans can follow live in-game statistics and play-by-play online through GameTracker on MSNsportsNET.com and a free WebStream also will be available.
