Rifle: Campriani Grabs Bronze in 3 Position

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior Nicco Campriani won the Bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 position, today, at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final, in Munich, Germany.
The Florence, Italy, native claimed his second medal in three days via a final score of 1271.6. A two-time National Rifle Association first team All-American, Campriani shot 397 (99, 99, 100, 99), prone, 388 (97, 97, 96, 98) standing and 389 (94, 99, 97, 99) kneeling for a relay score of 1174. He proceeded to shoot 97.6 in the finals.
Hungary’s Peter Sidi narrowly edged Campriani for the Silver medal, also shooting 1174 in the relay before tallying 97.8 in the finals for a combined total of 1271.8.
Artem Khadjibekov of Russia finished first with a score of 1278.7 (1181 relay).
Today’s medal is Campriani’s second of the final, as he won the Silver medal in air rifle on Tuesday.
Campriani finished fifth in 3 position with a score of 1271.8 at the 50th ISSF World Championship in August.
