Rifle: Campriani Finishes 11th in Prone

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior Nicco Campriani finished in 11th place in the men’s 50m rifle prone, today, at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final, in Munich, Germany.
The Florence, Italy, native shot 591 (98-96-99-100-98-100) and did not advance to the finals.
Belarus’ Sergei Martynov, the reigning world champion, finished first with a final score of 703.2. Martynov’s perfect relay score of 600 equaled a world record; he shot 103.2 in the finals.
Norway’s Vebjoern Berg finished second with a score of 701.7 (596, 105.7), while Henri Junghaenel of Germany shot 701.5 (598, 103.5) and finished in third place.
Campriani, a two-time National Rifle Association first team All-American, shot 596 at the ISSF World Championship in August and finished in 27th place.
Campriani’s time at the ISSF World Cup Final concludes tomorrow with the men’s 50m rifle 3 position.
