Football: ECAC Announces Weekly Poll

CAPE COD, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the second weekly ECAC Lambert Meadowlands Football Poll presented by FieldTurf, and all four teams remain the same at the top of the polls. In the Bowl Subdivision poll, West Virginia (5-1), ranked No. 20 nationally, remains at No. 1. Delaware (7-0), undefeated and ranked No. 2 in the country, grabs the top spot in the Championship Subdivision poll with No. 4 William & Mary (5-1) second in the poll. California (Pa.), undefeated at 7-0 and ranked fifth in the nation, is the top team in Division II. Unbeaten Wesley (7-0), ranked third in the country, takes the top spot in the Division III poll.
Three new teams entered the polls this week, two in Division II and one in Division III. Gannon was the highest new entry, joining the DII poll at No. 8, while Merrimack entered the same poll at No. 10. Amherst garnered enough support to enter the Division III poll at No. 10.
The ECAC will release the weekly poll in each of the four divisions (Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II and Division III) and the final poll in January will determine the trophy winners. The first place teams in the final poll will be presented with their Lambert Meadowlands Awards during the Eastern College Football Awards Banquet at the New Meadowlands Stadium in February.
