MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University baseball player Chris Enourato has been named to the 2009 all-Valley Team, announced by the Valley League Office.
The senior from Bridgeport, W.Va., is one of only 33 players selected from across the league. The Valley League consists of three divisions with four teams each, as each division honored 11 of its players.
Representing the Waynesboro Generals out of the South Division, Enourato was one of the top relief pitchers last summer. He recorded all seven of Waynesboro’s saves and tallied a 1-1 record with a 2.33 ERA in 14 appearances. The 2009 all-Big East third team member averaged over one strikeout per inning pitched, totaling 25 strikeouts in 19.1 frames. He also held the opposition to a .211 batting average.
In the mid-season, Enourato was selected to the annual North-South Valley League All-Star Game for the second time in his career. He is West Virginia’s all-time leader in career saves with 17.
