Baseball: Gyorko Named One of 10 Best Juniors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University baseball player Jedd Gyorko continues to earn national preseason recognition, being named one of the country’s best juniors as part of Yahoo! Sports’ college baseball preview.
Yahoo! Sports’ college baseball writer, Kendall Rogers, named Gyorko one of the country’s 10 best juniors for this upcoming season. The Morgantown native finished his sophomore season as a Brooks Wallace Award finalist, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association District II Player of the Year and was named a Cape Cod League All-Star this past summer.
The preseason Big East Player of the Year was named a first-team preseason All-American by Ping!Baseball, and was tabbed with second-team honors by the NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
In two seasons at WVU, Gyorko holds a .415 career batting average with 16 home runs, 121 RBIs, 45 doubles, 191 base hits and 136 runs scored.
