MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia place kicker Tyler Bitancurt has been named the BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week following his 15-point performance in WVU's 33-20 victory over Liberty on Saturday afternoon.
The freshman from Springfield, Va., made field goal attempts from 38, 35, 45 and 36 yards, while adding three PATs in his collegiate debut.
Bitancurt's performance is tied for the third-highest single-game kick scoring output in school history. His four field goals also tie the school record for most field goals in a single game at Milan Puskar Stadium.
WVU resumes its schedule with a matchup against East Carolina on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in Morgantown, W.Va.
