MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia quarterback Jarrett Brown has been recognized as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced today by the ECAC.
Brown, a redshirt senior, adds his second honor of the week following his performance in WVU's 35-20 victory over East Carolina. The West Palm Beach, Fla., native was also named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for career highs of 334 yards and four touchdowns last Saturday.
Brown had 407 yards of total offense to key WVU's win. He completed 24 of 31 passes and added 73 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Brown had a hand in 80 percent of West Virginia’s 509 total yards against the Pirates and became just the fourth Mountaineer player in history to register 400 yards of offense in a game.
WVU returns with a nationally-televised contest at Southeastern Conference opponent Auburn (2-0) on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
