MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia plays host to East Carolina today in a matchup of 1-0 football teams at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown. The game will be televised by ESPN360.com (John Sanders and Rene Nadeau). Kickoff is slated for 3:30 pm.

10 – West Virginia has TEN players on its 2009 roster from Virginia. The top state is West Virginia with 30, followed by 22 from Florida, 16 from Pennsylvania, 12 from Ohio and 10 each from Maryland and Virginia.
9 – Junior running back Noel Devine now has NINE career 100-yard rushing games after his 112-yard performance in the season opener against Liberty.
8 – WVU has a winning all-time record against EIGHT of the 12 opponents on its 2009 schedule: Auburn, Cincinnati, Connecticut, East Carolina, Liberty, Louisville, Marshall and Rutgers.
7 – Last year, East Carolina snapped West Virginia’s SEVEN-game winning streak in the series with a 24-3 win in Greenville. The Mountaineers are 17-3 all-time against the Pirates.
6 – The number of inductees (SIX) in this year’s WVU Sports Hall of Fame being officially enshrined today: Aaron Beasley (football), Fred Graham (football-basketball), Jeff Merrow (football), Kristin Quackenbush (gymnastics-track and field), Bob Smith (basketball) and Lowry Stoops (administrator).
5 – This weekend West Virginia is looking for its FIFTH 200-yard passing performance under second-year offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen. West Virginia’s 332 yards passing in last year’s Meineke Car Care Bowl were the most by the Mountaineers since 2000, Don Nehlen’s last season.
4 – Since 2001, the Mountaineer defense has forced the FOURTH-most turnovers of any team in the country with 237. WVU is plus-one in turnover margin heading into today’s game.
3 – The number of victories (THREE) quarterback Jarrett Brown has as a starter for the Mountaineers. Brown enters today’s game 3-0 as a starter.
2 – Only TWO players on West Virginia’s roster have more than 20 career starts heading into today’s game: Scooter Berry (24) and Selvish Capers (20).
