MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University coach Nikki Izzo-Brown announced today the addition of Jordan Bunch to the 2009 women’s soccer roster.
A Jackson, N.J., resident, Bunch arrives at WVU after completing one season at Rider University. With the Broncs, Bunch tied for the team lead with four goals on only 13 shots, while starting all 19 matches as a true freshman.
The 5-foot-8 Bunch earned 12 varsity letters at Jackson Memorial High, including a successful track career. A two-time first team all-Shore soccer player for coach Drew Gibson, Bunch also was named an all-county and all-division selection. As a junior, she guided her team to a South Division championship. As a senior, Bunch led her squad to a conference title and an appearance in the state sectional final.
Bunch played club soccer for the New Jersey Wildcats under coach Homere Breton.
WVU opens the 2009 season against Ohio State on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 6 p.m. Fans attending the home opener can pick up a free 2009 WVU women’s soccer poster featuring Mallory Beck, Kerri Butler, Erica Henderson and Nicole Mailloux.
