MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University pitcher Chris Enourato has been selected to participate in the annual North-South Valley League all-star game, announced by the Valley Baseball League.
The right-hander from Bridgeport, W.Va., begins the week showing a 2.84 ERA in 10 appearances for the Waynesboro Generals. Enourato is 1-1 and owns all of Waynesboro’s seven saves, holding opponents to a .250 batting average.
WVU’s all-time career saves leader has recorded 18 strikeouts in 12.2 innings pitched, guiding the Generals to a second-place 8-4 (13-10 overall) mark in the VBL south division.
Enourato finished his junior campaign at WVU with a 6-2 record and a team-leading six saves. The rising senior ended the 2009 season as an all-BIG EAST third team player and an Eastern College Athletic Conference first team all-star.
Enourato will make his second appearance in the Valley League all-star game, earning his first trip in 2007 when he boasted the league’s fourth-highest batting average (.368) heading into the all-star break.
The Valley Baseball League all-star game is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, at Central High School in Woodstock, Va.
