MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Ten members of the West Virginia University men’s soccer team are competing this summer.

The team, which is based in Bradenton, Fla., is a member of the Premier Development League. The Lumberton, N.J., resident has started two contests, making 12 saves and boasting a 1.50 goals against-average. Bradenton sits in first place of the Southeast Division of the Southern Conference.
Other returning players who are competing this summer consist of Raymon Gaddis, Ruben Garrido, Adam Mills and Declan Coll. This marked the eighth state title the U-19 Burn has won. The four Mountaineers will continue to compete as the squad looks to take home the Region 2 Championships of the National Championship Series.
Eric Schoenle is among the five incoming freshmen who are playing summer soccer before coming to Morgantown. As a member of the U-17 YMS Xplosion in Yardley, Pa., Schoenle has led the squad to a U.S. Youth Soccer PA State championship along with a Region I Premier League title. Currently, the team is heading to the Region I Championships of the National Championship Series.
Other incoming players who have been active over the summer are Paul Killian, Travis Pittman, Uwem Etuk and Moeryhan Doue.
An Ellicott, Md., native, Killian is playing for the U-18 SAC United Premier squad. As a starting goalkeeper for the team, Killian recorded a shutout and helped lead the team to win the Maryland State Cup championship with a 3-0 decision. Next on the radar for Killian and his squad are the Region I Championships.
Pittman, Etuk and Doue are playing for the D.C. United U-18 Academy Team. The three helped D.C. United qualify for the United States Soccer Federation Development Academy playoffs in Greensboro, N.C. The squad also is in first place of the Mid-Atlantic Division with a 10-3-1 mark, complimented by 31 points.
With United, Doue has played in 19 contests, scoring two goals. Etuk played in 11 matches, also with pair of scores, and Pittman has appeared in 20 games.
