Rowing: Novice 8+ Finishes at Dad Vail

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University’s Novice 8+ boat finished in sixth place in the semifinal round of the Dad Vail Regatta this morning on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa.

The Mountaineer boat of Amelia Nelson, Alexandra Flavion, Alexa Waugh, Caitlin Murphy, Melissa Shaver, Shannon Gribbons, Jeannine McCarty, Lauren Washabaugh, with coxswain Amy Cheung, crossed the line in 7:07.00, in front of Rochester (7:10.70).

The boat qualified in yesterday’s 1500 meter time trials with a time of 5:15.43.

The Mountaineers 2009 season is complete.
