A member of the women’s soccer team, Larkin has appeared in 14 matches and is a member of the Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll. She is involved with all community service events with the women’s soccer team including volunteering with the WVU Soccer School of Excellence and playing in the annual Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Center “Three’s a Team … the Fourth’s a Mountaineer” tournament.
The Cerritos, Calif., native was selected out of a pool of four WVU nominees which also included football’s Ovid Goulbourne, track’s April Rotilio and men’s soccer’s Jason Bristol.
The conference is open to all student-athletes at NCAA member institutions and gives them opportunities to enhance their leadership, communications, decision-making and problem-solving skills. A total of 700 student-athletes, 233 from Division I, II and III, are selected to attend the conference. Men’s soccer player Donald La Guerre represented WVU at the 2008 convention.
