MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University junior diver Brandon Robinson completed day one of the 2009 NCAA Zone "A" Diving Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., this afternoon. Robinson competed in the 1-meter dive.
The Sicklerville, N.J., native, finished the day in 25th place with a total of 237.50 points after six dives (42.00, 42.90, 41.25, 32.50, 43.20, 35.65). Robinson scored his highest point total in the reverse one and a half somersault pike.
"Brandon did very well today on the 1-meter, this is a very high level competition," Diving Coach Laura Lunn said. "He had a slight miss on one dive, but other than that he put together a good list of dives."
Robinson will continue the zone championships tomorrow when he dives on the 3-meter board. The championships are being held at the University of Buffalo in the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
