Today marked the first day of our winter training trip. Everyone arrived nice and early in the cold weather, but the sun of Florida was all on our minds and our spirits were high. We arrived at the Pittsburgh airport and amazingly everything ran to plan.
After around a two hour flight we arrived in Orlando to see the sun of Florida and the snow and cold weather of Morgantown left all of our minds. We then got on the bus and took an hour long bus ride to Cocoa Beach where we had to listen to Jake Kudrna go on about how his goal for the trip was to catch an alligator.
We finally arrived at the hotel where everyone ran straight off the bus into their rooms and changed to hit the beach for the couple of hours before we had to hit the pool. Everyone had a nice swim in the cold ocean water catching waves and having a whole lot of fun. I know I certainly did seeing as I haven't gotten to see the beach since summer break back home in Australia. We then all slowly left the beach knowing that we had to go swim in the dreaded LONG COURSE pool.
We arrived at the pool which is a couple of miles away from the hotel and we had a nice easy swim to top off a great day. Everyone is ready for an exciting week of fun in the sun and the ocean and that whole SWIMMING thing we came here for. It should be a great experience for all the freshmen and a chance for the whole team to have a lot of fun and some hard training.
