West Virginia University Head Football Coach Bill Stewart has announced that safety Nate Sowers and defensive lineman Scooter Berry will not participate in the 2010 Konica Minolta Gator Bowl for not meeting NCAA eligibility requirements.
Berry was the team's starting defensive tackle, appearing in eight games and making 15 tackles and a sack. The junior missed four games because of injury and suspension.
Sowers was a starting bandit safety who played in all 12 games this year, posting 43 tackles and 5.5 tackles for losses.
Sophomore Josh Taylor will take Berry's spot at defensive tackle while senior Boogie Allen could step in at bandit safety.
