Women's Basketball: No. 23 WVU Faces Fresno St.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University’s women’s basketball team plays host to Fresno State, Saturday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum.
No. 23 West Virginia (9-1) and the Bulldogs (7-3) will be meeting for the second time in as many seasons, with WVU holding a 1-0 series advantage after a 68-63 win at Fresno State last year.
West Virginia has won seven straight contests after posting a 74-43 victory last Saturday against Longwood. The win streak is the longest for the Mountaineers since a nine-game win streak midway through the 2007-08 campaign.
Reigning WVU Athlete of the Week Liz Repella leads the team with a 14.7 points per game average while reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Asya Bussie is second on the team with 12.7 points per contest
Fresno State enters the game having won five straight and is fresh off a 63-45 victory against UNLV this past Saturday. Two Bulldogs are averaging double figures on the season, led by junior guard and 2009 all-WAC first teamer Jaleesa Ross’ 19.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game average. Junior forward Haley Munro also averages 11.1 points per contest.
Saturday's game is a "Dairy Mart Dollar Night" as fans can visit any Morgantown-area Dairy Mart to pick up a coupon good for one dollar admission to the game.
The contest will be broadcast on MSN women’s basketball affiliated stations with play-by-play announcer Travis Jones on the call.
