Football: Devine Earns BIG EAST Award

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia tailback Noel Devine earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against Syracuse, the conference announced today.
A week after being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, Devine scored two touchdowns and finished with 103 all-purpose yards in WVU's 34-13 win over the Orange. He tallied his first career receiving touchdown on WVU's first offensive play from scrimmage.
Devine later added his BIG EAST-leading seventh rushing touchdown, a four-yard score with 14:55 left in the fourth quarter. The nation's third leading rusher finished with 91 yards on 22 carries.
Linebacker Pat Lazear was named to the conference honor roll after registering four tackles and setting up WVU's first touchdown with a 53-yard fumble return.
WVU returns to action with a home matchup against Marshall on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 3:30 p.m.
