MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Former West Virginia University baseball player Tyler Kuhn has been selected to the Pioneer League All-Star Team.
The record-breaking shortstop has had a standout season for the Great Falls Voyagers, a Rookie League affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Kuhn enters Wednesday’s action batting .370 with three home runs, 46 RBIs, 21 doubles and eight triples in 59 games.
The Louisville, Ky., native has also registered a .982 on-base plus slugging percentage, and has a team-high 90 hits and 46 runs scored. He was a 15th round selection in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft.
Kuhn has batted .425 with 17 hits and 11 RBIs over the Voyagers’ last 10 games. His play at shortstop has led Great Falls to second place in the PIO North Division with an 18-17 record.
Kuhn played at WVU as a second baseman and shortstop from 2005-08. He is the school’s career leader in base hits (324), at-bats (906), RBIs (188), triples (16), runs scored (219) and games played (220).
