West Virginia’s list of NFL players just got one lighter today when the Atlanta Falcons released fullback Corey McIntyre. By my count that brings the total number of former Mountaineer players on opening day NFL rosters to 10.
St. Louis recently signed linebacker Gary Stills (released by the Ravens) and has the most ex-West Virginia players with three: QB Marc Bulger, TE Anthony Becht and Stills.
Cincinnati has a pair of Mountaineer players on its roster in defensive tackle John Thornton and wide receiver Chris Henry. Others in the league include Adam Jones (Dallas), Steve Slaton (Houston), Antwan Lake (New Orleans), Jerry Porter (Jacksonville) and Owen Schmitt (Seattle).
The list of players on NFL practice squads includes Marc Magro (St. Louis), Darius Reynaud (Minnesota) and Keilen Dykes (Arizona).
Steelers safety Ryan Mundy was placed on injured reserve.
