WVU Wins in Three

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team (4-6) defeated Maryland-Baltimore County (9-4) in its second match of the WVU Classic, on Saturday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum.
Despite trailing in both the second and third sets, the Mountaineers came back to defeat the Retrievers, 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 27-25).
Leading the Mountaineers was sophomore outside hitter Abby Norman, who posted 11 kills with a .348 hitting percentage. Norman also posted two service aces in the match, including one to win the final set.
Freshman outside hitter Kylie Armbruster also had a good showing as she posted her fourth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 11 digs.
Sophomore libero Bonnie West led the Mountaineers in digs with 21, while freshman setter Kari Post recorded 29 assists in her second career start.
The Mountaineers will close out the tournament tonight with an 8 p.m. match against George Washington.
