Men's Soccer: Promotional Days Announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University is planning several promotional days this fall for the 15th-ranked Mountaineer men’s soccer team.
Three contests have been selected as “Dollar Day,” meaning that all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas available for purchase will be just one dollar. The following matches have been designated as “Dollar Days” – Sept. 21 vs. Rutgers, noon; Oct. 15 vs. Ohio State, 8 p.m.; Nov. 1 vs. Notre Dame, 7 p.m.
As part of the 2008 Fall Family Weekend, members of the WVU Parents Club will receive a coupon for one-dollar admission into the match against Seton Hall on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
Also on tap this season is “Chick-fil-A Coloring Sheet Night,” which is scheduled for Nov. 1. Children ages 13 and younger will gain free admission with a completed coloring sheet courtesy of Chick-fil-A at Morgantown Mall as WVU hosts Notre Dame at 7 p.m. on Senior Night.
WVU opens regular-season play on Friday, Aug. 29, against Lafayette as part of the West Virginia University Classic, presented by Jerseys Subs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Mountaineers’ second and final match of the Classic takes place on Sunday, Aug. 31, against Duquesne. The match, slated for a 2 p.m. start, will be televised live on West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
The Mountaineers return five starters from last year’s memorable squad which advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time since 1981. Head Coach Marlon LeBlanc returns for his third season with the Mountaineers and has led WVU to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
