MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team completes its spring season with a game at Maryland, Friday, April 25. Kickoff in College Park, Md., at Ludwig Field is scheduled for 8 p.m.
“Playing a tough ACC team like Maryland is a great way to end the spring season,” says Head Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “Friday’s game will allow us to see where we have improved throughout the spring and where we need to improve heading into the fall.”
The match is West Virginia’s fifth spring contest allotted by the NCAA. The Mountaineers previously faced Penn State, James Madison, Purdue and Ohio State.
Last fall, WVU posted an 18-5-2 record and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the eighth consecutive year, while advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time ever. West Virginia repeated as American Division BIG EAST champions during the regular season and won its first BIG EAST tournament crown as well.
