MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University rowing team competed against Bucknell today in a scrimmage on the Susquehanna River, in Shamokin Dam, Pa.
“Both schools are preparing for their conference matches which are coming up this weekend,” says Head Coach Jimmy King. “Today gave us the opportunity to get some time in the water before the BIG EAST Championship.”
This weekend’s match was considered a scrimmage after two schools dropped out of the competition which was originally scheduled as a double duel race. The Mountaineers and the Bison competed in several shorter segments in both varsity and novice boats throughout the day to prepare for upcoming races.
The Mountaineer return to the water on Saturday, April 26, for the BIG EAST Championship on Melton Hill Lake, in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
