Rowing: Mountaineers to Face Bucknell

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University rowing team will travel to Shamokin Dam, Pa., on Saturday, April 19, to compete against Bucknell on the Susquehanna River.
“The Bucknell program is performing at a highly competitive pace this season,” said WVU Head Coach Jimmy King. “Although their varsity eight has not yet cracked the national rankings.It will certainly be a good challenge for us.”
The Mountaineers head into this weekend’s race after a strong performance last weekend at the Knecht Cup. WVU’s varsity four boat highlighted the weekend with a second-place finish in the Grand Finals. The Mountaineers crossed the line with a time of 7:32.4 behind Lafayette (7:30.7).
Bucknell is also coming off a strong weekend as their varsity eight boat finished first at the Knect Cup with a time of 6:34.03.
