Gymnastics: WVU Travels to GW for Quad Meet

MEET NOTES
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University gymnastics team will compete in a quad meet at EAGL opponent George Washington with Maryland and No. 24 Kent State on Sunday, March 9, at 3 p.m., at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C.
West Virginia is 31-1 all-time against GW, 25-12-1 against Maryland and 20-9 in meetings with Kent State.
WVU (11-7, 5-0 EAGL) comes into the meet with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 193.780 and meet average of 193.246. The Mountaineers took care of rival Pitt last week, winning 194.025-191.975 in Pittsburgh.
Individually, West Virginia has gymnasts ranking in the top four in three of the four events. Chelsi Tabor (9.815 RQS) ranks second in the league on vault and Mehgan Morris leads the EAGL on bars (9.855 RQS). Amy Bieski (9.860 RQS) sits second on floor, while Morris (9.815 RQS) ranks fourth.
Kent State has an RQS of 194.320, while EAGL foe Maryland (5-9) is at 192.560. West Virginia faced the Terps earlier in the season and won 193.050-192.550 in College Park, Md.
The Colonials are 10-7 with an RQS of 192.34 and a meet average score of 192.221. WVU topped GW in a home meet on Jan. 27, 192.700-192.050, in Morgantown.
