MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Senior Kevin Donohue finished fifth in the men's 100 breaststroke today to earn All-American honors at the 2008 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
Donohue covered the distance in a time of 53:15, making him the first-ever swimmer at WVU to be named an All-American in an individual event. The top eight finishers are named as All-Americans with 9-16 being honorable mention.
"Kevin had a really good swim today," says Head Coach Vic Riggs. "He came in and had an excellent opportunity to place in top eight and he did just that."
Donohue concludes his trip to the NCAA Championships tomorrow with the preliminary round of the 200 breast event. Prelims are set to begin at 12 noon.
