Baseball: Kuhn Named BIG EAST Player Of The Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Senior shortstop Tyler Kuhn has been named the BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week after the Louisville, Ky., native recorded 14 runs on 16 hits and had 18 RBIs this past week.
Kuhn led the Mountaineers to an 8-1 week with a 16-for-31 (.561) performance at the plate, with 18 RBIs and 14 runs scored. Kuhn hit five home runs, three doubles and a pair of triples to finish the week with a 1.1226 slugging percentage.
Kuhn finished with three hits, blasted a career-high two home runs and drove in a career-high seven runs, to lead WVU to a 21-3 win over St. Bonaventure, on March 12. Kuhn then finished with four RBIs in game one of a doubleheader against Iona, 7-2, in a seven-inning game and 12-2 in a nine-inning contest, on March 15. He finished the doubleheader with four hits, four runs, one home run and a triple.
Kuhn finished the eight-game week with three hits in game four against Iona, matching his career-high with two home runs and driving in five runs to lead West Virginia to a 17-1 victory over.
The Mountaineers continue their home stretch on Tuesday when they host Canisius in a doubleheader at Hawley Field, beginning at 1 p.m.
