Tennis: WVU Downs Seton Hall

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University tennis team defeated BIG EAST foe Seton Hall, 4-3, on Friday, March 14, at the Ridgeview Racquet Club in Morgantown, W.Va.
The Mountaineers (7-4, 1-1 BIG EAST) clinched the match after Stephanie LaFortune defeated Slavina Kaplanska, 6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-1, at No. 6 singles. She also paired with Monica Lyskawa at No. 2 doubles to defeat El-Tobgy-Sunbul, 8-5.
The doubles point proved big for WVU as they took two of three matches. Monique Burton and Ashley Pilsbury won convincingly, 8-2, over Harvey-Chu at No. 3 singles.
Senior Stacey Percival notched a win at No. 1 singles as she defeated Denise Liebschner, 6-2, 3-0, after Liebschner was forced to retire from the match due to a back injury.
Natalia Prinz also continued her impressive play with a 6-1, 4-0, victory against Danielle Viola at No. 3 singles. Viola also retired from her match due to injury.
WVU returns to action on Sunday, March 16, at 10 a.m. against Cincinnati in another BIG EAST contest. The match will be held at the Ridgeview Racquet Club.
