MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University's nationally ranked women's basketball team (18-3, 7-1) takes on BIG EAST foe Providence (11-10, 1-7) Saturday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I.
No. 12/11 West Virginia leads the all-time series with the Friars by a 12-4 count and has won five of the last six meetings. WVU is 5-3 all-time at Alumni and 6-2 all-time against PC under coach Mike Carey.
The Mountaineers are just the 12th team in NCAA history to boast four 1,000 point scorers (Meg Bulger, Olayinka Sanni, Chakhia Cole, LaQuita Owens) on the same team after Owens reached that plateau in WVU's most recent win at Seton Hall.
