Men's Basketball: Ruoff Earns Academic Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men's basketball junior Alex Ruoff has been named to the 2007-08 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II men's basketball first team as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
It is the second straight year Ruoff has earned district first-team honors. A history major with a 3.79 GPA, Ruoff has started every game this season for the Mountaineers, averaging 14.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He is second in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals made and 3-point field goal percentage.
Along with Ruoff, Matt Betley of Lafayette, Travis Lay of American, Danny Morrissey of Penn State and Kieron Achara of Duquesne earned all-district first-team honors.
Ruoff, a native of Spring Hill, Fla., is now a candidate for Academic All-America honors.
