CINCINNATI, OHIO -- West Virginia University’s nationally ranked women’s basketball team (20-4, 9-2) takes on Cincinnati (11-13, 2-10), Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. at Fifth-Third Arena, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
No. 13/11 West Virginia and Cincinnati will be meeting for the seventh time in a series that began in 1978. In BIG EAST play, the series is split 1-1 with each team winning on its home court, including a 61-49 win for the Mountaineers at the WVU Coliseum. The Mountaineers are looking for their first-ever win in Cincinnati, posting an 0-3 previous all-time mark.
WVU and UC share three non-conference common opponents Indiana, Presbyterian and Duquesne.
Three Mountaineers are averaging double-figures in scoring led by senior center Olayinka Sanni’s 16.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Senior guard LaQuita Owens averages 13.7 points while senior guard Meg Bulger nets 12.8 points a contest.
Cincinnati is led by sophomore guard Kahla Roudebush with 16 points per game.
