Cross Country: Three Run At Canadian Nationals

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– West Virginia University cross country runner Kate Harrison took eighth place in the Women’s Junior Race at the AGSI Junior Women’s Canadian National Cross Country Championship held on Saturday, Nov. 29th. Teammates Jessica O’Connell and Hallina Portner also competed at the race, which was held at the University of Guelph Arboretum.
Harrison finished the 5K race in 18:29.3 to finish eighth out of 179 runners. Harrison’s club, the Phoenix Athletics Association, placed fourth in the region overall. O’Connell, running for the UofC Athletics Club, placed 26th (19:41.4), while Portner, who ran unattached as she is not a Canadian citizen, finished 52nd with a time of 20:04.2.
The United States World Cross Country Trials will be held Saturday, Feb. 7.
