NOTRE DAME, Ind. – West Virginia women’s soccer players Carolyn Blank and Erica Henderson each earned a spot on the 2008 BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team this afternoon.
Blank, the 2008 BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year, was named to the all-tournament squad for the second straight year. The junior was dominant in Friday’s semifinal draw against Connecticut, totaling six shot attempts in the contest.
Henderson, a redshirt freshman, scored WVU’s lone goal in the 1-1 tie. Henderson received the ball inside the box on a long pass from junior Nicole Mailloux. She turned and chipped the ball over 2008 BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year Stephanie Labbe for her fifth goal of the season.
