MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia takes on Connecticut at Rentschler Field (40,000) on Saturday, Nov. 1, in a noon game that will be televised as the Big East Network Game of the Week.
West Virginia (5-2, 2-0) faces a Connecticut team that snapped a two-game losing streak last Saturday against Cincinnati and owns an 11-game home winning streak. The Huskies are 6-2 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
The Mountaineers have won both previous meetings to Rentschler Field in 2004 (31-19) and in 2006 (37-11).

10 – West Virginia has had double 100-yard rushers in a game TEN times since 2006. The last pair to do it was Pat White (148) and Noel Devine (133) earlier this year against Colorado. White has had a hand in all 10 double 100-yard rushing performances during that span of time.
9 – Connecticut quarterbacks have thrown NINE interceptions this year compared to West Virginia’s four. The Huskies have picked off 12 passes and now lead the Big East in turnover margin at plus-four.
8 – West Virginia has lost only EIGHT of its last 50 regular season games dating back to Oct. 11, 2003. Overall, the Mountaineers are 45-10 during the span of time.
7 – West Virginia quarterback Pat White is SEVENTH among active NCAA players in career yards per play with a 7.38 average. White has accumulated 8,913 total yards in 43 career games.
6 – SIX Connecticut wide receivers have between 12 and 18 receptions this season. Kashif Moore is UConn’s top pass catcher with 18 receptions for 193 yards and a touchdown.
5 – Saturday’s game will be the FIFTH time West Virginia and Connecticut has met in football since the Huskies made the move to I-A status. West Virginia is 4-0 against UConn.
4 – West Virginia heads into Saturday’s game having won FOUR straight after suffering a pair of road losses at East Carolina and Colorado. WVU is 5-0 at home this year and is 0-2 in road games.
3 – Just THREE schools (Oklahoma, BYU and Boise State) have longer home winning streaks than UConn’s 11 wins in a row at Rentschler Field. Oklahoma leads the country with a 21-game home winning streak.
2 – Noel Devine is SECOND in the Big East in rushing averaging 121.3 yards per game while averaging a conference best 7.4 yards per carry.
1 – Connecticut running back Donald Brown ranks FIRST in the country in rushing averaging 165.5 yards per game. Brown heads into Saturday’s contest with 1,324 yards and 14 touchdowns.
