Volleyball: Mountaineers Fall to Georgetown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team fell to BIG EAST opponent Georgetown this evening at the WVU Coliseum.
The Hoyas (9-7, 2-1) defeated the Mountaineers (5-9, 0-3) in a 3-1 (24-26, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23) match.
Freshman setter Kari Post led the Mountaineers as she captured her fourth double-double of the season with 29 assists and 11 digs. She also tied her season-high of five kills.
Freshman outside hitter Michelle Kopecky led the team in kills with 12, while sophomore middle blocker Abby Norman followed with eight and a .278 hitting percentage. Sophomore libero Bonnie West posted 11 digs.
As a team the Mountaineers posted six total team blocks, 43 kills and 60 digs.
WVU will continue BIG EAST action with a 1 p.m. match with USF on Sunday, Oct. 5, at the WVU Coliseum.
