Cross Country To Race In Paul Short Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team will travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to take part in the annual Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 3. The race is set to begin at 11:45 a.m., and will be hosted by Lehigh University.
The Invitational features teams from around the country, including five teams in the Top 30, featuring No. 6 Princeton, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 16 Baylor and No. 30 Tennessee. The Mountaineers are currently ranked No. 9 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Associations Division I Women’s National Poll, and have been idle since Sept. 13.
The Mountaineers finished in second place last season, behind Princeton, out of 47 teams at the annual invitational. Marie-Louise Asselin finished third overall followed by Keri Bland who came in seventh. The two returning All-Americans are looking to improve at this year’s race.
