Women's Basketball: No. 12 WVU Takes on Hoyas

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s nationally ranked women’s basketball team (15-3, 4-1) returns to BIG EAST play when it takes on Georgetown (11-7, 1-4) Saturday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum.
The contest will be aired on West Virginia PBS with Hoppy Kercheval and Warren Baker on the call. MSN radio with Travis Jones and Jay Jacobs will broadcast the contest.
No. 12/12 WVU has won three straight in a series that Georgetown leads 10-7. WVU Coach Mike Carey is 5-2 against the Hoyas including a 69-47 win at Georgetown, West Virginia’s first-ever win at McDonough Arena.
Senior center Olayinka Sanni, the reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week, leads the Mountaineers with 17.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
Tickets are available for Saturday’s women’s game versus Georgetown and sales will begin at 1 p.m. at the Blue Gate ticket windows at the WVU Coliseum. The men’s game at 7 p.m. against Georgetown is a sellout.
Women’s ticket prices are $5 for adults, $3 for youth under 18 and senior citizens and $2 per person for groups of 10 or more.
Fans who have a ticket for Saturday’s men’s game can use their men’s ticket for admission into the women’s contest at no additional cost. Tickets for the women’s game are not valid for the men’s contest against the Hoyas at 7 p.m.
At the conclusion of the women’s game, fans with a men’s ticket may remain in the Coliseum. Fans without a men’s ticket must leave the building immediately after the women’s game.
WVU students will be permitted to stay in their seats following the women’s game and are encouraged to attend the women’s contest to claim their seats for the men’s game.
