Women's Basketball: WVU Up to No. 14 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team (12-3, 2-1) moved up two spots to No. 14, garnering 538 points, in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, released today.
Ranked No. 16 last week, with 480 points, WVU defeated then No. 14 Notre Dame, 56-50, at the WVU Coliseum Sunday.
Five other BIG EAST teams are ranked in the AP poll: No. 1 Connecticut, No. 5 Rutgers, No. 17 Notre Dame, No. 22 Pitt and No. 23 DePaul.
West Virginia returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. when it plays host to BIG EAST rival Marquette (9-6, 1-1) at the WVU Coliseum. The contest will be broadcast live on West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
