Volleyball: Mountaineers Go 2-1 In WVU Classic

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior volleyball player Abby Tevis led the Mountaineers to victory posting her third double-double of the season in the final game of the WVU Classic.
The Mountaineers now 7-2 defeated East Tennessee State 3-1 (30-21, 30-25, 28-30, 30-20).
Tevis had 19 kills and 17 digs against the Buccaneers (5-5), while sophomore outside hitter Kristina Gallahan added a career high 19 kills. Both were named to the all-tournament team.
Also stepping up for the Mountaineers was senior setter Kaliee Goold who also posted a double-double with a season high 52 assists and 19 digs. Freshman libero Bonnie West earned a season high 25 digs.
Earlier in the day the Mountaineers fell to the tournament champions Butler 3-0.
The Mountaineers return to action against Marshall in Charleston, W.Va., on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
