Women's Soccer: WVU Remains In National Polls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team remained in the national polls following a 1-1 record during the season-opening weekend.
The Mountaineers earned a No. 18 ranking from Soccer Buzz, No. 22 from Soccer America, and No. 23 from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas poll. WVU has now been ranked in at least one of the three major polls for 54 of the last 56 polling weeks.
West Virginia will face another ranked opponent for the second consecutive weekend on Sunday, Sept. 9, with No. 15 Penn State coming to Morgantown. This past Sunday, WVU dropped a 3-0 decision at Virginia, now ranked No. 8 in the nation.
