MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia dropped eight spots to 13th in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 football poll and dropped seven spots to 12th in this week’s USA Today Coaches’ Poll, both released this afternoon.

Four Big East teams are ranked in both polls this week. Cincinnati is now 20th in the AP poll after beating San Diego State last night to bump its record to 5-0. The Bearcats are 24th in the Coaches’ Poll.
Rutgers falls 10 spots to 21st in both polls after suffering a 34-24 home loss to Maryland Saturday to drop to 3-1.
Connecticut is 5-0 after its 44-10 victory over Akron. The Huskies received 23 votes in this week’s Coaches’ Poll and nine votes in the AP poll. Louisville, ranked 10th during the preseason but dropped out of the rankings after back-to-back losses against Kentucky and Syracuse, got back on the winning side with a 29-10 victory at North Carolina State. The Cardinals are now 3-2 with a home game coming up against Utah on Friday night.
