Volleyball: Mountaineers Fall to St. John's

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team was defeated by St. John’s today in Queens, N.Y.
The Red Storm (19-2, 4-0) won the match 3-0 (24-30, 16-30, 26-30).
Sophomore Marissa Meyers turned in her best game of the season today as she recorded 6 kills and 10.5 points. Also leading the Mountaineers were seniors Abby Tevis, Ashley Pappas and freshman Abby Norman, who all posted 10 kills.
On Wednesday, Oct. 3, the Mountaineers (9-7, 1-3) will return to action as they travel to take on Robert Morris in a 7 p.m. match. The Mountaineers will then return to BIG EAST play next weekend as they host Villanova on Saturday, Oct. 6, and Seton Hall on Sunday, Oct. 7. Both games are set for 2 p.m.
