Volleyball: WVU Set for BIG EAST Road Trip

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team will travel to Hartford, Conn., on Saturday, Sept. 29, to take on Connecticut, in its first BIG EAST road match at 2 p.m.
The Mountaineers (9-5) are 1-1 in conference play after defeating DePaul and falling to Notre Dame last weekend in their first BIG EAST action of the season.
The Mountaineers have been led by seniors Kailee Goold and Abby Tevis this season. Goold, the setter for the Mountaineers, averages 10.07 sets and 3.05 digs per game. Tevis, an outside hitter for the Mountaineers leads the team in kills with 204 and is third on the team in digs with 170.
Connecticut (10-4, 1-1) is coming off a 3-0 win over BIG EAST foe Seton Hall on Sunday. Last season the Huskies defeated the Mountaineers 3-0 in Morgantown.
On Sunday, the Mountaineers will finish their weekend with a 2 p.m. match up with No. 19 St. John’s in Queens, N.Y.
