Women's Soccer: WVU Lands In Rankings Again

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team has been ranked in all three national polls this week, having now been ranked in at least one of those polls for 57 of the last 59 voting weeks.
The Mountaineers earned a No. 20 ranking from Soccer Buzz, a No. 22 ranking from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas poll and a No. 25 bid from Soccer America.
West Virginia owns a 5-3 record with all three defeats coming to ranked opponents: Virginia, Texas A&M and Wake Forest. Those teams are currently ranked as high as fourth (Soccer Buzz and Soccer America), third (NSCAA/adidas) and 23rd (Soccer America), respectively.
The Mountaineers return to action on Friday with a home match against St. John’s on Friday, Sept. 28, at 5 p.m. The match is the first of a doubleheader with the WVU men’s team. The men’s team will host DePaul at 7 p.m.
