Men's Soccer: WVU Tabbed No. 8 By NSCAA/adidas

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men’s soccer team (5-2) fell from No. 5 to No. 8 in the weekly NSCAA/adidas poll released today. The Mountaineers went 1-1 last weekend, its first in conference play.
The squad fell to St. John’s on Sept. 21, 1-0 after a penalty kick was awarded to the Red Storm with just three minutes remaining in the match. The Mountaineers then traveled north to face Syracuse where freshman Paul Paradise netted his second game-winning goal of the season to secure a 1-0 victory over the Orange on Sept. 23.
Wake Forest (6-0) remained at the top of the NSCAA/adidas poll followed by BIG EAST foe Notre Dame (5-1-1), Northwestern (6-0-1), Virginia (5-1-1) and Connecticut (7-1) to round out the top five.
WVU will return home to host DePaul on Friday, Sept. 28. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and is part of a doubleheader with the women’s soccer team who will host St. John’s at 5 p.m.
